How to Read Height Measurements on the 500KL Height Rod
WARNING: Exercise caution when adjusting the height rod, it should glide smoothly up and down. When not in use, fold down the headpiece.
Note: In order to obtain an exact measurement of height, patients must be at least 23-5/8″ (60 cm) tall.
With the headpiece folded down, slide the headpiece up or down to correspond with the patient’s estimated height. Lift the headpiece so that it is horizontal.
Note: Slide the headpiece down the pillar for patients who are under 48.5″ / 123 cm.
The patient should be facing the display head.
Make certain that the patient has an upright posture and a level, straight head.
Slide the headpiece down until it is resting on the patient’s head.
Find the height of the patient by reading the figure on the measuring strip that is closest to the red indicator’s line. The height measurement is taken at the pillar’s red line for heights higher than 48.5″ / 123 cm.
The red line under the headpiece is where the height measurement is taken for anyone under 48.5″ / 123 cm.
